Such a wonderful place. There was nothing we were lacking. Attention to detail like 2 umbrellas for the rain and 2 beach chairs for the sun. Even a fireplace! Gracious hosts and stellar location, walkable to everything, make this a perfect bet.

What a fabulous stay we had at Genine’s. It was everything we expected and more. If we hadn’t come with anything, we would have been set up comfortably with all he thoughtful additions Genine had for us when we arrived. Everything was thought of - fans, towels, umbrellas, etc. What a wonderful stay! Genine was a great host too, she checked in to make sure everything was going well but left us our space to enjoy too. Highly recommend this place!! Thanks again, Genine.

This is a special place. As another reviewed noted, the pictures do not do it justice. The apartment is creatively designed with extremely nice finishes and it "works" well - we had guests twice and each time, four of us moved about comfortably. The kitchen is small but it's still very functional. Put simply, it's a wonderful place to stay! Genine and Keith are very thoughtful hosts. From extras in the apartment (e.g., camping chairs we used to enjoy concerts in a nearby park, towels for the beach, umbrellas) to letting us know before our stay about special opportunities we might want to build into our plans (e.g., arts festival, concerts), they go the extra mile. This continued during our stay as Genine offered suggestions for things to do as well as printed info for reference. For anyone not familiar with Vancouver (it was our first visit), the apartment is in the perfect location. The immediate neighborhood is established and well kept (with great neighbors). With a short walk, you're in the Ambleside business district where you can find fresh produce, specialty shops (fish, butcher), beer/wine, a full grocery, and a Sunday Farmers Market. There is also a wonderful waterfront with a beach, pier, public park, and walking/bike path. More broadly, the apartment is perfectly situated between the city, ferry access, and the road to Whistler. The bus stop is at the bottom of the hill and the bus system works well. If driving, you're on Lions Gate Bridge to Vancouver in no time and the highway is just up the hill for driving to Horseshoe Bay or anything in the direction of Whistler. Again, this is a special place.

Genine was an absolute amazing hostess. She went over the top to make sure our stay was the best. The beds are super comfortable, the location is probably the best, water views and close to the sea wall. Amazing restaurants just a few blocks away and everything within a few minutes of a drive or 10 minute walk. We really loved this self-contained suite and the place was better than the pictures showed. Thank you so much for having us. We would love to stay with you again!!

The location of Genie's place is as good as it gets in Vancouver. Within walking distance to the main West Van areas (seawalk, beach, park, recreation center, mall, restaurants). Downtown Vancouver, Stanley Park, Lonsdale Quay are all less than a 10-15 minute drive away. Place is quiet, clean and nicely renovated. There were 5 of us total (3 kids) and we made it work without too much of a hassle. The hosts, Genie and Keith, made sure everything was taken care off and were both very friendly. Would definitely stay there again if we come back to Van. Thanks for everything!

Stayed for a whole month (2 adults, 3 small kids) and had a great time! Can't recommend it enough! We were on a year-long trip around the world, so we are staying in a lot of different apartments, and this was one of our best picks. Very cozy suite with all needed amenities, close by to a wonderful beach, shops and parks and best of all, the host Genine is super nice and practically made sure every day that we're good and helped us with everything we needed. Don't think twice and book this place.

It was the perfect place. Close to a lot of different amenities, bus stop that goes everywhere and near to the beach. The place was in excellent conditions, it was a suitable place for the indicated amount of people. It had all we needed and even more. Mrs. Genine was a great host, taking care of all the details that we would need. Awesome place!

The apartment is wonderful. Everything perfect. Everything clean and tidy. Very warm welcome. It is very close to the ocean. We will not hesitate to book our stay in it when we return to Vancouver again. Great and nice owners! A pleasure to meet people like Genine! The apartment is in a great quiet locality, but in the same time there are lots of cafes, restaurants and shops in the area, easy to go in a car to the Downtown. Would highly recommend.

We loved staying with Genine and Keith. We took our two girls to West Vancouver Community Center's summer camps for a month and we had an entire suite that was beautifully decorated, as well as, a lovely patio for our stay.
Genine greeted us outside the property with a warm smile. She made sure that we were clear about any instructions to do with the suite. Genine and Keith made really helpful recommendations about where to eat and what to do by providing maps and guidebooks about the area. Genine even sent us coupons of Vancouver Aquarium by mail half-way through our stay - very thoughtful.
The location is excellent. It's close to everything; restaurants, shops, convenient stores, beach, parks and etc. This was a fantastic experience to us. We highly recommend Genine and Keith's suite for your future stay at West Vancouver!

This is a wonderful place to stay. My teenage daughter and I had the good fortune to live here while I worked for an extended period in Vancouver. It provided a lovely home away from home, tucked under the mountains, in a well appointed, cosy, and remarkably efficient suite. I didn't have to bring so much as a spoon. Insuite laundry, jetted tub, fireplace, radiant floors, all these small luxuries make being away from home so much more comforting.
Genine and Keith are wonderful landlords, kind, relaxed, generous, and answered every need we had before we asked them. The house itself is well situated: walk 25 feet from the door and you're staring at the ocean, you're two blocks from coffee and the seawall. An hour and 20 to Whistler!
I could have easily done without the car, everything you need is at your doorstep, four blocks from the mall and Whole Foods, a quick drive to the ski hills, and in a neighbourhood that is amiable, convenient and safe. West Van itself has more of a village feel. The bus line is better than most in the Greater Vancouver area, 20 minutes to downtown. I grew up in Vancouver so I know what I'm talking about.
We are lucky to have had such a cheery little nest to make our own over the Christmas holidays. Being away from home is always a bit daunting, but Genine and Keith provide a warm and comforting abode in a small village of a bigger city. Its kind of ideal in that sense.

Our home away from home!
We have stayed in this suite twice, as I have family in West Vancouver who are not able to accommodate us when we visit. We have stayed in several other apartments on the North Shore, but this one is the best by far.
The neighbourhood (Ambleside) is very quiet but you are still close to all of the amenities that you need. The apartment is very well equipped (kitchen things, linen, etc.) and there were many thoughtful touches (they know that we have a young child and made every effort to accommodate us). The space is immaculately clean and was only very recently renovated. All appliances are brand new and there is very reliable wi-fi. Parking is literally just outside the door. We did not make much use of the outdoor dining area this time, but we did last summer. Beds are large and comfortable. The bathroom is very nice and also well appointed.
We would certainly stay here again if possible - the neighbourhood is very quiet and very convenient for us. Though it was not a priority for us, you can get downtown quite easily by car (you are just a few minutes from the Lions Gate Bridge) or by bus. You are also just a few minutes from the highway which leads to Horseshoe Bay and on to Whistler.
Thanks to Genine and Keith for another wonderful and worry-free stay!

This was by far the nicest rental in the most desireable location I have yet had the pleasure to enjoy. Thanks so much for all the extra little things that made our stay so special. We will be back soon.

We will certainly stay with you again if we are in town when you have a vacancy. It was a perfect location for us, and we never felt that we needed anything more than what was in the suite. And thank you again...

We were renovating our new home and needed a rental apartment for almost four months. Dickenson House fulfilled our needs and was very comfortable, plus the landlords were great...!
